The LSM from Studio Projects is a large diaphragm condenser microphone that packs professional-quality audio into a compact, practical, and stylish design. LSM stands for “Little Square Mic” which aptly describes this little workhorse. Despite the slim and elegant design, the LSM packs some terrific technology. It has Class-A electronics, including a 34mm Von Braunmuhl and Weber-style transducer with a cardioid pickup pattern to reduce off-axis noise and feedback. It has a JFET impedance converter and a high-SPL handling output circuit. ;The mic has XLR and USB output connectors, making it easy to connect to pro-level mixing consoles and systems, but also home computers and laptops. The XLR connector accepts standard 48V phantom power, and the USB connector lets you hook directly into your Mac or PC. The mic has a folding yoke that allows you to attach it to a standard mic stand, or prop it on any flat surface for tabletop use. Whether you’re recording musicians in a studio or just having an at-home VoIP chat, the LSM is a great option.

The CAD U37 USB Condenser Microphone combines a high-quality large diaphragm condenser with USB connectivity. The U37 has two switches on the front. The first switch allows you to decrease the sensitivity of the microphone so the sound quality is clear for extremely loud sounds. For example, the switch should be in the “-10″ position for loud voices, percussion and other high sound pressure level devices. The “0″ position should be used for normal voices and string instruments.
The second switch on the U37 is designed to reduce pickup of deep-bass sounds. The switch should be in the “Normal Bass” mode in most cases. However, if you want to remove wind noise, ventilation noise, or decrease the low frequencies in a recording, the switch should be in the “Bass Reduction” position.
