The book is reasonable. It explains EQ, mics, etc with pictures and diagrams so anyone can get it. I guess with the modern age of computer based recording a lot of it is obsolete.

This book is definately for all levels of Recording. Very straight and to the point. Very clear and concise, and doesnt limit you to having to have a specific piece of gear.

I bought this book for my son who is into home recording but had some questions. He said he got some great ideas and saw that he was doing some things wrong. For instance, he had the wrong kind of speakers for recording. I bought him 3 or 4 books on this subject and this one was his favorite.

this book is mostly for beginners, it covers a lot of things but won’t help much if you already have some experience. It is easy to read, gives a good overview … why not

I was very surprised to read advices on how to record on a 4 or 8 tracks analog machine while I suppose the number of available tracks is not a issue anymore

This book is a decent read but nothing too revealing. It would have been great to hear some actual results from the Author himself. Maybe a link to a website where he could have posted some material of the methods he speaks of. The one huge suggestion that stuck with me is his small chapetr on Immersion techniques. Basically getting past recording ‘blocks’.
